In 2014,
the world will commemorate the one hundred year anniversary of the First World
War. A website, http://www.1914.org/wall/ has been set up to draw attention
to this, and the Imperial War Museum is planning to build an interactive wall -
via email, twitter or facebook, you can ‘light a light’ on this wall by signing
your name and remembering those who fought.
I strongly
urge everyone to do this – the sacrifice made by 16 million people should never
be forgotten, and the centenary presents us with a unique opportunity to remember.
